How do you brand water? This is the question I was faced with when taking on this project. To portray tap water as something other than what we all know it as.

The hierarchy of information is critical on a public utilities site. One must be able to look quickly and understand what is most important. Yet with tap water as the brand you must keep the open and free flowing feeling as the underlining drive.

The energy found within water was the concept behind this stop motion. Water moves with the world around it using no effort instead allowing the world to move it.
The art or weaving and looming single stands of fiber into a larger work has always been a fascination of mine. I set out to create a typeface that could be used on the looms of old in honor of all that they have created. Tapestries should not be forgotten in this digital age.

To honor the art of tapestry making I wanted to create posters that used tools of the past in a new way. I used hand dyed yarn, nails, wood, paint and my typeface loom to create these tributes to the past.

The Industrialist and The Naturalist. Both seem so distant on first appearances but when one looks deeper we realize that there are common threads that bind us all.

Purely purée is all about one ingredient at a time. To do this they only use 100% pure fruit purée. So you can be sure you are only getting what you want.
I took photographs of fruit in the studio with no post spot cleaning in Photoshop. This way you know that the fruit is real and unaltered.

My inspiration in both life and design. A mixture of the urban environment with the natural world to come together and create something new.
The space within space. The idea that there are hidden worlds around us and all you have to do to see them is look.
I wanted to bring Pantone out of the digital world into the physical world. To illustrate to people how colors interact and affect their everyday lives.
To give it the real world look I did everything in camera and on set. No post alterations using Photoshop, this way it would feel real to the viewer because it is real.

Local Kitchen and Wine Merchant is a fresh neighborhood restaurant and wine bar on Rincon Hill. They have an upper class environment yet they keep their feet on the ground.
The mood in the restaurant is a mix of mystery and elegance. I wanted to bring that into the design, using the bold colors and strong lines.

I was part of the team that created the art direction and assets for the IGN Pro League. We created everything from video spots to the motion assets.
Creations made using the typefaces and letters "din 1451" and "sabon j t". The "j t" are for Jan Tschichold Sabons creator. Each typeface has a unique personality in these experiments I attempted to create a form expressing those personalities.

We must continue to move forward into the new. You can stop and look for a while but never move back.
Everything builds on its past. We ourselves are products of our experiences and the knowledge gained from those experiences.
I wanted to give something that is regularly overlooked and minute a bigger than life and in your face sensation. I wanted the user to get this feeling not only through the images but also the overall experience
I printed the images on thirteen by nineteen Hahnemühle FineArt Photo Rag 308 gsm paper. Then I casebound it myself into double thickness davey board covers using a twenty-four foot piece of thread among other materials.

I created this design in respect to a great artist, Roy Lichtenstein. Taking inspiration from his style of work, I produced a serigraph design.
This took five color passes using serigraphy techniques to transfer the mixed paints to the paper. I used a primary color palette inspired by Roy Lichtenstein.
I am member of a large team of people working towards the sites future. I assist with both art creation and diction for the WellPlayed brand.

Being part of NASL's art team my responsibilities include the production and creation of their weekly design needs. Maintaining their branding and style guides at all times.
I was part of a team of both designers and art directors with the objective of creating a new shell for Kiva's site. We used character creation to help illustrate Kiva's process to the viewer in. Creating a energetic and engaging medium that would show rather then tell the view who Kiva is.

It's a whole new way of communicating with people. Simply put, Layers would allow users to see the world around them in a new and engaging way.
By combining two forms of current technology, Geotagged Media and Augmented Reality (AR), Layers would give users an interactive portal through time and space.

The Urban Forest Project endeavors to help people understand that the natural environment around us is as important as the cities we live in. They have artists create street light banner designs showing this concept in creative and unique ways.
I created a smooth color palette so not to interfere with the banner designs. I also included a live map feature using Google API to show the locations of the banners and information about them.

Creatures of the deep are almost a mystery to us. To show them in their true form and environment is a goal of mine, so that we may someday better understand them.
I wanted to show them in their natural environment acting as they would if no one was there. It was a low light situation with lots of motion so I increased my ISO and opened up my camera's aperture.

I have always been drawn to the natural world. The life and energy that it holds and has power over fascinates me. To try and capture this power when it had its guard down was my goal.

One of my goals in life is to visit every National Park in the United States. It is a goal I take quite seriously and pursue whenever given the opportunity.
In doing so I want to share my experiences with others by creating a series of images to show what these parks have to offer.

What would it be like if Superheroes walked among us? This was the question that I was trying to answer with this series
This is a composite of images taken from real world environ¬ments with superhero action figures placed into them. I also formed halftone patterns in the shots to create a comic book feel.

My goal for this study was to show the beauty in something we all take for granted. Food is a part of our everyday lives and yet we over look it.
This was a studio photo shoot with a softbox camera right and a key light upper camera left. I used natural elements to create the shadows.

A series on a concept that is important in many people's lives, yet we cannot even truly define it. I wanted to try and understand religion, not in the literal way, but the spiritual way.
I looked to their deities for the answers, in doing so I was welcomed in by their followers and shown what they believe.

The world beneath our feet is something we know is there yet we can never clearly see it. I want to show the details in this small unseen world.

I have always been fascinated with drops of liquid, from the drip of a faucet to the downpour of a thunderstorm. There is something primal about it, the way it moves and flows to become almost living.
To capture this idea I used high speed photography using strobes and fast shutter speeds. It was a waiting game with hundreds of missed shots per image.

The space between is what I focused on in this series. The idea that nothing can create it can become something in its own natural form. To show the dark fugues that surround us and that are a part of us all.
